Dr. Bowden's Qualifications
Dr. Bowden is a surgeon who has many years of experience in the use of
many cosmetic treatments as well as reconstructive treatments. He has
previously taught other physicians throughout the country how to perform
many of the procedures that he does. He taught both residents at the
National Naval Medical Centre as well as ophthalmologists at the American
Academy of Ophthalmology. He is particularly skilled in the areas of
laser treatment, and has over 30 years of use of the laser for treating
eyes.
Dr. Bowden trained in Beverly Hills and learned to
evaluate some of the areas of greatest cosmetic concern. He worked with
numerous facial plastic surgeons as well as many other oculoplastic surgeons to refine and hone his skills
in this area. He is particularly qualified for any cosmetic surgery
involving the face. However, Dr. Bowden does not perform full facelifts.
He can refer you to other plastic surgeons in town should he feel this is
necessary. In many cases, there are other less expensive alternatives to
a full facelift that they will provide similar results.
It must be remembered that the eyes are the most important portion of the
face. Who better than an ophthalmologist (an eye surgeon and specialist
in care of and diseases of the eye) to provide care for your face? When
someone looks at your face, they see your eyes and eyebrows. They do not
concentrate on your chin, teeth, or ears as much. In order to restore the
youthful look and youthful appearance, one must concentrate primarily on
the eyes. While other operations affect the face, the youthful appearance
is derived approximately 90% from the eyes.
Dr. Bowden is one of only 600 people in the world with special
qualifications and training to address this particular aspect of cosmetic
surgery.
